Haryana government issues major police reshuffle, transferring 6 HPS and 2 IPS officers. Narender Bijarniya appointed SP Karnal; Ganga Ram Punia joins ACB.

Six HPS officials and two IPS officers have received new posting orders from the Haryana government.

An official order states that IPS officer Narender Bijarniya has been assigned the position of SP, Karnal, while IPS officer Ganga Ram Punia has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, filling a vacancy.

Bijarniya was removed from his job as Rohtak SP in October due to growing opposition criticism on IPS officer Y Puran Kumar’s reported suicide.

Kumar’s concluding report highlighted “blatant caste-based discrimination, targeted mental harassment, public humiliation and atrocities” and listed eight officials, including Bijarniya and senior IPS officer Shatrujeet Kapur.

Six policemen from the Haryana Police Services (HPS)—Jeet Beniwal, Sushil Kumar, Monika, Munish Sehgal, Anil Kumar, and Shakir Hussain—were granted new posting orders.
