Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini launches VB-G RAM G scheme, raising work guarantee to 125 days, ensuring weekly wages and empowering rural workers.

The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G Scheme ) is Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s promise to every worker in the nation, according to Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, who described it as a solid basis for raising the living standards of hardworking laborers. It guarantees the right to a stable income, timely pay, social respect, and the ability to work with dignity.

At  state-level conference of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G), which was held at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula, the chief minister was speaking to the workers. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sh Krishna Bedi and Development and Panchayats Minister Sh Krishan Lal Panwar were also in attendance.

The Chief Minister stated that the development of villages and laborers is essential to achieving the Prime Minister’s goal of making India a developed country by 2047. He underlined that India’s villages are essential to the country’s development. The bs more than just an employment program; it is an endeavor to improve the lives of diligent workers, uphold the dignity of labor, and safeguard their self-respect.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini added that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has introduced the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025, also known as the Viksit Bharat – G Ram G Act, to the country in light of the flaws of MNREGA. He explained that this is a thorough revamping of the rural employment system rather than merely renaming MNREGA.

According to him, the statutory guarantee of work has been extended from 100 days to 125 days under the new law. The law also gives states the authority to halt construction for a maximum of 60 days during the planting and harvesting seasons. In addition to the 125 days guaranteed by the Viksit Bharat-G Ram G plan, this clause guarantees that workers would be employed for these 60 days separately. Consequently, it is anticipated that the typical rural unskilled worker’s yearly wage will rise by almost Rs 7,000 nationwide. Every employee in Haryana would get an extra benefit of at least Rs 10,000. Every worker’s yearly salary can rise to at least Rs 50,000 because Haryana has the highest minimum pay in the nation, at Rs 400 per day.

In order to ensure that workers receive their earnings on time, the Chief Minister announced that the VB-G RAM G plan will now pay wages on a weekly basis rather than the previous 15-day cycle. These clauses will get rid of phony employees, phony projects, and phony payments. He went on to say that the new law has broadened the nature and scope of employment, adding numerous new categories. This will speed up community development efforts and increase job prospects for laborers. The new program takes a more thorough and development-focused approach than the previous MNREGA, which provided few employment opportunities.

According to Sh Nayab Singh Saini, when MNREGA was first introduced, the situation was completely different. However, as time went on, a number of flaws in the program emerged, which had an immediate effect on the workers. According to him, workers are well aware that in some locations, human labor has been replaced by robots, in others, payments have been made under false pretenses, and frequently, paychecks have been delayed for months. He added that under the pretense of MNREGA, corruption, phony employment cards, contractor dominance, and worker rights violations occurred in many regions of the nation. It has been frequently shown in CAG reports and social audits that although legitimate workers kept working, others stole the benefits that were intended for them.

The Chief Minister expressed pride in the fact that over Rs 5,000 crore was paid to workers between October 2014 and October 2025, comparing the MNREGA payments made under the current BJP government in Haryana with those made during the ten-year Congress government. In comparison, during the ten-year Congress government, less than Rs 2,000 crore was distributed. “This clearly shows that the current government has put the dignity of labor at the forefront of its governance agenda, ensured greater transparency in fund disbursement, and employed a greater number of workers,” he said. The Chief Minister went on to say that workers’ rights have never been greater thanks to the VB-G RAM G plan.

The Chief Minister launched a vicious attack on the opposition Congress party and its supporters, claiming that the Congress is using deceptive tactics to confuse people about the G RAM G program and has run out of genuine problems. He claimed that Congress leaders had repurposed the MNREGA program to support themselves instead of workers. He claimed that despite numerous name changes during their tenure, corruption persisted unchecked.

According to the Chief Minister, the people of the nation and the state have rejected the Congress because of its bad policies. Declaring that Congress has continuously manipulated the interests of the underprivileged and backward sections, he asked the public not to be duped by its propaganda.

On the other hand, he claimed that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi is always striving to raise the standard of living for laborers, the underprivileged, and the weaker segments of society through open and worker-centered policies.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has also come under fire from Sh Nayab Singh Saini, who said that the party is only opposing the G RAM G program for political reasons. “The state government has not taken action against those responsible despite proven instances of corruption in wage payments to laborers under MNREGA in Punjab,” he claimed. He added that the VB-G RAM G program was put into place by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi in order to protect workers’ dignity and make sure that their hard-earned money cannot be stolen.

The Chief Minister previously spoke with VB-G RAM G scheme recipients from several districts and learned about their personal experiences with the program. The workers thanked Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini and Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi for carrying out the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin). According to them, the program will now offer 125 days of work rather than the previous 100 days, which will raise earnings and raise living standards. The recipients were also pleased that their wages would be paid within seven days. They further stated that the implementation of the program will be easier, more transparent, and more accountable with the addition of biometric authentication and geotagging.

Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has stressed that India can only become a developed country by 2047 if the poor, women, farmers, and young are empowered, according to Development and Panchayats Minister Sh Krishan Lal Panwar, who spoke at the event. He claimed that developing rural areas is essential to achieving the goal of a developed India.

He claimed that laborers, who power companies, create roads and buildings, and plough fields, are diligent partners in the nation’s development. He claimed that without their input, development would not be feasible. The story of India’s progress is told by every drop of sweat that laborers shed; this contribution was long disregarded.

Additionally, Sh Panwar claimed that the opposition is trying to deceive employees about the G RAM G program. He gave them the assurance that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini are fully protecting the interests of workers.

The Chief Guest and other dignitaries were welcomed by Dr. Saket Kumar, the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Commissioner and Secretary of the Development and Panchayats Department. He said that the G RAM G scheme would not only create jobs for workers but also guarantee transparency throughout its implementation.

Dignitaries in attendance included Rajya Sabha MPs Sh. Kartikeya Sharma and Smt. Rekha Sharma, former Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Satpal Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Chief Executive Officer of DRDA Panchkula Smt. Nisha Yadav, BJP State Vice President Smt. Banto Kataria, District President Sh. Ajay Mittal, President of the Haryana MNREGA Mate Workers Union Sh. Naveen Kumar, and other dignitaries.
