Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini inaugurates Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Forest & Wildlife Conservation Block, planting 350 trees and promoting biodiversity.

Chief Minister of Haryana Sh. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s name always comes first when the names of those who gave their lives to defend the country and faith are stated, according to Nayab Singh Saini. The 350th year of his martyrdom is being commemorated throughout the state to encourage future generations with his life and actions.

Chief Minister Sh. On the occasion of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Martyrdom Day, Nayab Singh Saini was opening the Forest, Wildlife, and Biodiversity Conservation Block in Kalesar, Yamunanagar. In the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Forest and Wildlife Conservation Block, the Chief Minister planted 350 seedlings alongside students. In addition, he unveiled the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Gate and the national park’s safari route.

Additionally, the Chief Minister placed the foundation stones for three-story watchtowers, a tree canopy walk, and an AI-based surveillance tower. He also declared that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji would be the name of the Agriculture College, which would be constructed on 45 acres in Pratappur and Kishanpura, Yamunanagar. Additionally, he declared that the development of the Kapalmochan–Yamunanagar bypass road would be examined for viability.

According to the Chief Minister, we are living in a historic time where this block will come to represent the meeting point of spirituality, nature, and human values. He bowed before Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Hind Ki Chadar. He stated that this forest will continue the heritage of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s passion for the environment and will mark a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to conserve forests and preserve biodiversity.

According to the Chief Minister, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru, Hind Ki Chadar, is a living example of bravery, compassion, and selflessness. He showed the world that defending others is the source of great power. A true religion is one that loves life, the natural world, and people equally. His personality is inextricably linked to his nature. Thus, it is a living example of his teachings that this Forest, Wildlife, and Biodiversity Conservation Block in Kalesar has been established in his honor.

According to the Chief Minister, forests have long served as hubs for public welfare, education, and meditation in Indian culture. Nature has always been the foundation of both the ashram and Guru traditions. Numerous trees are linked to Guru Ji’s life and Sikh history. Among these, the Dukh Bhanjani Beri tree represents tranquility and safety in times of adversity. Motivated by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s teachings, we must put cleanliness, plantations, and wildlife protection first in order to meet the difficulties of the modern world. To do this, a number of programs are being implemented to expand the state’s forest cover.

Making every area of Haryana green is the aim, according to the chief minister. Not only are we planting trees, but we are also sowing life—natural air purifiers. In order to keep our planet from becoming barren, we are fortifying its roots.

Under the special initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” which Prime Minister Sh. On June 5, 2024, World Environment Day, 1.87 crore seedlings were planted by Narendra Modi. An additional 2.10 crore seedlings have been planted under the second phase this year. Eighteen crore trees have been planted since 2014.

According to the Chief Minister, special initiatives have also been started to encourage urban forestry, which would enhance the amount of green space in cities. To stop unlawful tree cutting and to save animals, the government has implemented stringent measures. In South Haryana, the Green Aravalli Action Plan has also been introduced. The Central and State Governments created this initiative, which is being carried out in five districts of Haryana as well as the four states of the Aravalli Hills.

According to him, the Forest Department also uses contemporary technologies to safeguard saplings. The growth of both newly planted and previously planted seedlings is closely monitored for five years. In addition, herbal parks have been established in a number of districts to promote and conserve medicinal plants. Oxy-vans have been established in the districts of Karnal, Panchkula, and Sonipat, and an international-level medicinal forest has been established in the Morni area.

Sh. According to Nayab Singh Saini, children should have a connection to nature from an early age in order to comprehend the value of trees as they mature. Every family should plant at least one seedling, and all schools should implement nature instruction. The only way to make the state greener, he continued, is for every young person to adopt and care for a tree as a guardian, and for every institution to make this forest campaign a public movement.
