Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasizes good governance, education, and citizen-centric reforms, honoring Vajpayee and Malaviya on Good Governance Day.

“Good governance is the strongest pillar for building a Developed India and a Developed Haryana,” stated Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, reiterating the Haryana Government’s strong commitment to transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric administration. Speaking at Panchkula’s state-level Good Governance Day celebration on Thursday, the chief minister said the event serves as a reminder of the government’s moral and constitutional obligations to all citizens.

According to tradition, he added, Good Governance Day was observed as a festival in all 23 districts of Haryana as well as at the state-level event in Panchkula. Through video conferencing, a wide range of people participated in the program, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, officers, and individuals from all throughout the state.

The Chief Minister expressed particular joy that the recently established district of Hansi, which was formally established only two days ago, was also celebrating Good Governance Day with equal fervor. According to him, the creation of the 23rd district was intended to prevent residents from having to travel great distances for administrative tasks and to promote quicker and more targeted development in the area.

The Chief Minister honored the birth anniversaries of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, recalling their remarkable contributions to the development of the country. According to him, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya devoted his life to education, social reform, mother language promotion, and national service, whereas Atal ji saw power as a tool for service and government as a synonym for public welfare.

The Chief Minister stated that Haryana was happy that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had just the day before dedicated 250 Atal Libraries in villages throughout the state, erected a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, released a coffee table book about his life, and started a blood donation camp. According to him, these projects are a genuine homage to the heritage and vision of Atal ji.

The cornerstone of national progress is education.

The Chief Minister stated that he truly believed that only when all citizens are educated will the country make development, referring to Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. He claimed that this conviction motivated him to disseminate education from city to city and village to village, a goal that still informs the current administration’s strategy.

The Chief Minister claimed that the Haryana government is gradually advancing towards a Developed India–Developed Haryana, where decisions are made within predetermined timeframes, governance is transparent, and public welfare is always at the center of policymaking, all thanks to the inspiration of these outstanding leaders. He claimed that good governance guarantees liberation from material, spiritual, and bodily pain, citing Ram Rajya as described by Goswami Tulsidas ji.

Real Change in the Lives of Citizens Is a Result of Good Governance

The Chief Minister underlined that good governance is about improving the lives of regular people in a noticeable and constructive way, not only about passing laws or giving directives. He claimed that when government programs reach the very last person in line, when people are not compelled to repeatedly visit offices to assert their rights, and when the system operates with empathy, accountability, and trust, true governance has been achieved.

The Chief Minister stated that Haryana’s governance approach is in line with digital, data-driven, and people-centric government, alluding to the transformative phase India is going through under the direction of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. He claimed that technology has been embraced not just as a tool for convenience but also as a force for change, with programs like Digital India, Direct Benefit Transfer, online, and time-bound service delivery making governance easier, faster, more transparent, and more dependable.

Democracy and the economy are strengthened by good governance.

According to the Chief Minister, effective administration fosters social fairness, draws in investment, encourages entrepreneurship, boosts democracy, and generates job opportunities, all of which contribute to prosperity. He emphasized the necessity for ongoing development to address new issues while pointing out that the observable advancements in infrastructure, housing, sanitation, healthcare, education, and nutrition throughout Haryana are tangible results of this governance style.

From Service Delivery to System Reform

The Chief Minister recalled the early years of government, saying that the government set out to transition from system reform to good governance and from good governance to service delivery as soon as it took office in 2014. He stated that the success of this mission depends on having good intentions and strict procedures that prevent corruption, all of which are detailed in the coffee table book that was released on the occasion.
