BJP Harassment of AAP Workers Escalates in Gujarat: Manoj Sorathia Speaks Out

Manoj Sorathia criticizes BJP for targeting AAP workers, neglecting youth welfare, and allowing illegal liquor outlets to operate openly in Gujarat.

Manoj Sorathia, Gujarat state organization general secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has alleged that the BJP is actively targeting AAP workers in Gujarat through the misuse of police power. Speaking at a press conference in Surat, Sorathia revealed that in the past three months, over 45 FIRs have been registered against AAP activists and office bearers for raising public issues, while leaders from other parties remain untouched.

According to Sorathia, this reflects a disturbing pattern of BJP targeting AAP workers in Gujarat, where activists who question government policies or expose local issues are intimidated, harassed, and sometimes jailed. He highlighted that even minor incidents are being turned into FIRs, with police often using heavy-handed tactics to pressure the activists.

Sorathia further stated that these FIRs have affected at least 160 AAP workers across various districts, including Panchmahal, Dahod, Godhra, Kachchh, Banas Kantha, Sabarkantha, Valsad, Navsari, Ahmedabad, and Surat. He accused the BJP of exploiting the police force to suppress dissent rather than protect citizens, adding, “This is a clear example of BJP targeting AAP workers in Gujarat to maintain power despite growing public demand for change.”

The AAP leader also criticized the open operation of illegal liquor outlets and alleged that the BJP is neglecting youth welfare. “Our young generation is being destroyed, and the police are complicit. This is yet another instance of BJP targeting AAP workers in Gujarat, using harassment as a political tool,” he said.

Sorathia urged the citizens of Gujarat to stand against this intimidation and harassment. “The BJP cannot continue to suppress voices of dissent. Democracy demands that citizens and activists are allowed to speak up without fear. The ongoing FIRs are not just attacks on AAP workers—they are attacks on the people’s right to question the government,” he emphasized.

He concluded by urging public vigilance and active participation in countering the oppressive tactics, assuring that AAP workers are not afraid of FIRs, jail, or harassment, and that the party will continue to fight for justice and transparency across Gujarat.
