AAP Surat leaders submit petition over misuse of Form 7, demanding transparency in electoral roll deletions and fair voter rights.
Surat: A petition was submitted to the Chief District Election Officer at the Collector’s Office in Surat by corporators and city office bearers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Surat City President Dharmesh Patel.
The delegation raised concerns regarding alleged shortcomings in the Special Electoral Roll (SIR) process. They highlighted instances of misuse of Form 7, which is used for objections to entries in the electoral roll, and urged authorities to take strict action against those involved.

The AAP leaders emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the process of deleting names from the electoral roll, ensuring that no voter is unfairly removed from the list.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharmesh Patel stated, “It is crucial that the electoral process remains transparent and fair. Any misuse of Form 7 undermines the democratic rights of citizens. We have requested the Election Officer to take immediate action and ensure the integrity of the voter list.”
The Chief District Election Officer is expected to review the petition and take appropriate action to address the concerns raised by the party leaders.
