Delhi air quality alert: AQI remains “very poor” at 377. Severe pollution expected soon; AAP highlights government’s failure in pollution control.

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data indicates that it is anticipated to move into the “severe” category on Monday.

The air quality is expected to be classified as “severe” between Monday and Wednesday. Air quality is expected to be in the “severe” to “very poor” range during the next six days, according to the Center’s Delhi Air Quality Early Warning System.

The CPCB defines an AQI between 201 and 300 as “poor,” 301 and 400 as “very poor,” and 401 and 500 as “severe.”

In a new attack on the government, the Aam Aadmi Party said Sunday that since the BJP was elected to power, basic sanitation, sewage upkeep, and pollution control have suffered. Speaking to a crowd at Pochanpur, Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj emphasized the “failure” of the BJP’s governance. According to him, the planned cleanup of the air, sewage, and streets did not take place.

“There was no other significant improvement. Just one thing took place. As a result of the widespread “goondagardi (hooliganism),” you are unsure of what to do if someone puts a hand on your neck. Since it’s the same MP, the same party’s MLA, and the same party’s MCD, where are you going to go?” he asked.

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was 377, maintaining the city’s air quality in the “very poor” category. However, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data indicates that it is anticipated to go into the “severe” category on Monday.
