Delhi CM Rekha Gupta meets PM Modi, shares updates on Clean Yamuna mission, infrastructure, and Chhath Puja preparations along Yamuna riverbanks.

CM Rekha Gupta, the chief minister of Delhi, paid Prime Minister Narendra Modi a courtesy call on Tuesday and wished him a happy Diwali. Gupta also gave Modi an update on the Clean Yamuna campaign, Delhi’s development projects, and the Chhath festival preparations.

The meeting was friendly and fruitful, according to an official statement.

Along with her husband and kids, the chief minister accepted the blessings of the prime minister and thanked him for his leadership and assistance.

Gupta updated Modi on her government’s continuous attempts to revitalize the Yamuna.

By increasing sewage-treatment capacity, implementing contemporary wastewater technology, and closely regulating the release of industrial effluents, the Delhi government is dedicated to making the river clean and pollution-free, she added.

According to her, measures are being taken to stop unlawful rubbish disposal into the river and to create green belts along the riverbanks.

According to the chief minister, her government wants to return the Yamuna to its “life-giving form” for Delhi’s citizens.

Regarding the Chhath festival, which is scheduled for October 25–28, Gupta stated that arrangements are being made to guarantee that followers can enjoy in a tidy and well-organized way.

Along both banks of the Yamuna, special ghats are being built with amenities like drinking water, sanitation, lighting, security, and medical care.

To make sure devotees don’t experience any difficulty, officials are keeping an eye on the ghats’ water quality and cleanliness.

According to the statement, Gupta said, “The Delhi government wants to make sure that Chhath Mahaparv is celebrated with devotion, piety, and cleanliness because it is a symbol of Indian culture and faith.”

The chief minister also gave Modi an update on current infrastructure and welfare projects, including as enlarged healthcare facilities, new flyovers, underpasses, better public transportation, and renovated schools.

According to her, the municipal government is constructing a contemporary, hygienic, and welcoming capital known as “Viksit Delhi.”

One of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s main pledges in the lead-up to the February Delhi Assembly elections, which saw the saffron party defeat the Aam Aadmi Party and retake power in the city after 27 years, was to revitalize the Yamuna.
