New Delhi: The Delhi unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious concerns over the recent actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). AAP councillors allege that BJP is attempting to control MCD operations directly from its state office, bypassing proper democratic procedures.
The controversy erupted during the replacement process of 50% of the members of the MCD Standing Committee. According to AAP sources, the BJP conducted a draw in an irregular and opaque manner, drawing sharp criticism from opposition councillors. They claim that this move is a blatant attempt to manipulate the MCD’s functioning and consolidate power.
