Punjab takes another digital leap as CM Mann opens two modern sub-tehsil offices in Malerkotla.
On July 19, 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated two new sub-tehsil complexes in Amargarh and Ahmedgarh, located in Malerkotla district. Built at a cost of over ₹13 crore, these facilities mark a significant step in the Punjab government’s mission to enhance local administration and citizen services.
Addressing the public at the event, CM Maan said that the digital systems being introduced at these offices would eliminate long unnecessary delays and long queues. “This initiative will not only save people’s time but also put an end to the hassle of repeated visits to government offices,” he noted.

The move aligns with Punjab’s larger goal of digitizing governance. With systems like iHRMS, IFMS, and eOffice already in place, the state—working closely with the National Informatics Centre—is steadily moving towards full-scale e-governance. These efforts also mirror Central Government’s digital India Campaign, which aims to bring governance to citizens’ fingertips.
Last year, Punjab also launched the Phulkari Web Portal to offer various public services online, showing a consistent push toward transparency and efficiency. The newly inaugurated tehsil offices continue that trajectory, promising easier access to land records, certificates, and other essential documents.
