NDA in Bihar elects its legislative party leader today, with Nitish Kumar expected to lead and stake claim to form the government as Gandhi Maidan readies for swearing-in.
Today, the (National Democratic Alliance) NDA in Bihar will choose its legislative party leader. Each of the 202 lawmakers from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha—the partners in the NDA coalition—will choose their own leader. It is anticipated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be chosen to lead the NDA legislative party.
Today, he will make his bid to establish the government. Nitish Kumar will head to Raj Bhavan to hand in his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan after being elected as the leader of the NDA legislative party. The Cabinet has suggested that the current Assembly, which consists of 243 members, be dissolved with effect from today, therefore its tenure will likewise end today. The legislative parties of the BJP and JD(U) are also planning separate meetings for this morning. Under the direction of the party’s central observers, the BJP meeting will take place at the state headquarters of the party in Patna.

Meanwhile, the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna is getting ready for the Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony. The event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief ministers from states ruled by the National Democratic Alliance, and numerous other dignitaries. About three lakh people are anticipated to attend the ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, according to BJP State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal.
