Maithili Thakur, 25, wins Alinagar Assembly seat defeating RJD’s Binod Mishra by 11,730 votes as NDA secures a strong Bihar mandate.
According to Election Commission of India (ECI) data, popular singer-turned-BJP candidate Maithili Thakur, 25, won the Alinagar Assembly seat by 11,730 votes. RJD veteran Binod Mishra (63), who received 73,185 votes, lost to Thakur, who received 84,915 votes in her first election.
The victory seemed “like a dream,” Thakur told ANI, adding that she aspires to live up to the public’s expectations. “I will give my constituency my all during my first term as an MLA,” she stated. I shall be the daughter of my tribe.

With 2,275 votes, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj candidate came in fourth place in Alinagar, behind independent Saifuddin Ahmed, who garnered 2,803 votes, according to ECI data.
According to the most recent ECI figures, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary recorded a resounding victory in Tarapur. Arun Kumar of the RJD received 76,637 votes, while the BJP leader received 1,22,480. Santosh Kumar, the candidate of Jan Suraaj, lost badly in this election, with only 3,898 votes.
According to the ECI data, jailed JD(U) leader Anant Singh also won handily from the Patna district’s Mokama constituency, with 91,416 votes. He defeated Veena Devi, the RJD candidate and wife of Don Surajbhan Singh, who received 63,210 votes. With 19,365 votes, Jan Suraaj’s Priadarshi Piyush came in third.

According to the most recent ECI count, the NDA has easily surpassed the majority threshold, gaining 167 seats. With 25 seats, the Mahagathbandhan is far behind. The BJP has become the largest party in the NDA, holding 78 seats, while JD(U) has 66 seats. Another impressive performance was made by the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), which won 16 of the 29 seats it ran for.
To now, the Congress has only managed three seats for the Mahagathbandhan, compared to 20 for the RJD.
