New Delhi: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced his upcoming book titled “Apnapan”, which chronicles his 35-year-long association and experiences with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement was made during a press conference in New Delhi.
The book, which is scheduled to be formally launched on May 26, 2026 at the NASC Complex in Pusa, New Delhi, will be released in the presence of former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.
Describing the book, Chouhan said “Apnapan” is a deeply personal account of his long association with PM Modi, spanning organisational work, governance, and nation-building experiences over more than three decades. He said the book aims to offer readers an intimate understanding of the Prime Minister’s leadership style, discipline, sensitivity, and commitment to public service.
From Ekta Yatra to Governance: A Long-Standing Association and Leadership Journey
Chouhan recalled that his association with Narendra Modi dates back to the 1991 Ekta Yatra, noting that their relationship evolved from organisational work to key leadership roles in governance. He described Modi as a “Karmayogi” who has consistently demonstrated dedication to national interest and strong organisational capabilities.

He highlighted Modi’s ability to connect with party workers and the grassroots level, resolve complex issues through dialogue and determination, and integrate technology into governance and public service delivery long before it became widely adopted.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chouhan said that the Prime Minister displayed calm leadership and decisiveness during a period of uncertainty, providing direction and confidence to the country.

He further said that “Apnapan” is not merely a collection of events but a reflection of ideas, values, and a vision of nation-building. According to him, the book captures the journey from organisational work to governance and highlights the spirit of service, discipline, and public connection.
Chouhan expressed confidence that the book would inspire young readers by conveying that meaningful national transformation comes from resolve, dedication, and a deep connection with people rather than position or power.
The book is expected to offer insights into the personal and political journey of one of India’s longest-standing political associations between Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
