New Delhi: Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between India and Russia.
During the meeting, Lavrov briefed Prime Minister Modi on the progress achieved in bilateral cooperation since the two leaders last met in December 2025 during the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. Both sides reviewed the status of ongoing collaboration across various sectors and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership.
Discussion on Ukraine Conflict and West Asia Situation Emphasizing Dialogue for Global Stability
The discussions also included an exchange of views on key regional and global developments, including the ongoing situation in Ukraine and developments in West Asia. Both leaders underscored the importance of continued dialogue on issues affecting global peace and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Modi requested Foreign Minister Lavrov to convey his warm greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The meeting is seen as part of ongoing high-level diplomatic exchanges aimed at further deepening India-Russia relations amid evolving global geopolitical challenges.
