MHA Successfully Completes Special Campaign 5.0, Clearing Pendency Nationwide

Ministry of Home Affairs concludes Special Campaign 5.0, boosting accountability, Swachhata, and efficiency across all offices nationwide.

From October 2 to October 31, 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs successfully completed the Special Campaign 5.0 for the resolution of outstanding issues. Swachhata was intended to promote cleanliness, streamline operations, and handle outstanding grievances throughout the Ministry and its affiliated organizations. It was inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s goal to institutionalize Swachhata and reduce pendency in Government.

Field and outstation offices that have direct public contact received special attention under the direction of Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.

The Swachhata campaign’s initial target of 4,187 locations was subsequently raised to 7,678. A total of 119 MP references, 199 state government references, 3,977 public complaints, and 718 appeals were handled.

A total of 65,997 electronic files and 194,522 physical files were inspected throughout the month-long special effort. It freed up 95,186 square feet of area. Through the disposal of scrap, more than ₹3.45 crore was made. In order to raise awareness of the Ministry’s actions, a social media campaign was also conducted.

Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, actively participated in the campaign’s implementation and progress evaluation, which was closely watched at the highest level. The campaign was warmly supported by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), MHA Divisions, and related groups. Updates on progress were posted every day to the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances’ SCPDM portal.

The campaign was implemented countrywide by the Ministry and its Attached/Subordinate offices from October 2 to October 31, 2025, after a preparatory phase that started on September 15, 2025.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reiterated its dedication to maintaining the momentum of Special Campaign 5.0, placing a strong emphasis on accountability, effective service delivery, and a pleasant workplace culture. CAPFs’ active participation brought a special touch and demonstrated the Ministry’s commitment to the campaign’s success.

As a result of the program, the Ministry and its field offices now have cleaner, better-organized workspaces and a culture of accountability, openness, and efficient service delivery.
