Karnataka Man accused of raping Street dogs in Pune: Complaint Filed

Honappa Hosmani, aged 35 and a resident of Karnataka, is accused of sexually assaulting street dogs in Pune’s Tingre Nagar area. The incident has been captured on camera and was made public after complaints were filed by local animal activists with the Vishrantwadi Police Station.

An eyewitness informed the members of NGO Animal Haven that a person was taking a female dog into a tin shed where the abnormal behavior was reportedly taking place. Following this report, NGO members Ragini More and Mrudula Waghmare submitted a formal complaint, demanding action under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, said Dr. Waghmare.

Senior Inspector Govind Jha confirmed that the case has been registered under relevant animal cruelty sections of the law, and the accused is currently on the run. Investigations are underway and the officers are reviewing CCTV Footage to trace Hosmani’s movements.

The horrifying allegation has sparked among activists and residents, who are urging authorities to act swiftly to ensure justice and stop future violence against defenseless animals.

The disturbing Case highlights the persistent challenges in protecting street animals and the critical role of vigilance and enforcement in preventing such cruelty.
