Karnataka Leadership Change Speculation : Amid rising political uncertainty in Karnataka, speculation over a possible leadership change has intensified, with Congress MLA R V Deshpande making a striking claim that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah could resign within the next 24 hours.
Deshpande’s statement has triggered widespread political discussion, marking the first public remark by a senior Congress leader suggesting a potential shift in leadership. He claimed that the Chief Minister may step down on May 28, 2026, adding that discussions within the party indicate that a decision at the top level may soon shape the future leadership of the state.
According to him, MLAs had requested Siddaramaiah to continue, but the Chief Minister reportedly indicated that he would abide by the party high command’s decision. This development has significantly intensified the ongoing Karnataka leadership change speculation.

After meeting the Chief Minister, Karnataka minister H K Patil said that concerns were raised during discussions, but the Chief Minister remained silent on the future course of action. He added that another meeting may take place soon to bring clarity.
