Prime Minister Modi’s longest Independence Day speech—103 minutes—offered sweeping insights across defense, economy, and national identity.

Tribute & Operation Sindoor

He lauded the armed forces behind Operation Sindoor, conducted after the Pahalgam terror attack. Modi termed it a powerful statement of India’s indigenous defense might and unwavering resolve. He emphasized the state’s firm stance: “No difference between terrorists and those who support them.”

Self-Reliance & Economic Security

Modi urged citizens to embrace Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He warned against external dependencies—calling them “a recipe for disaster”—especially amid a looming 50 % tariff threat from the US.

GST Reforms & Cost Relief

Promising a “Diwali gift”, he announced next-generation GST reforms aimed at reducing prices of daily-use goods and aiding MSMEs.

Employment Initiative
