Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and President of France Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated Bharat Innovates 2026 at the Palais des Expositions de Nice, marking a major milestone in India–France innovation cooperation.
The launch of Bharat Innovates positions India’s deep-tech ecosystem on a global platform, bringing together innovators, researchers, universities, and industry leaders from across the world.
India Showcases Strong Deep-Tech Ecosystem
The event highlights India’s rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem, with participation from 120 Indian innovators, more than 15 higher education institutions, and over 500 global stakeholders including CEOs, venture capital firms, and industry leaders.
Bharat Innovates 2026 focuses on 13 key sectors such as advanced computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, space technology, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing, showcasing India’s growing technological capabilities.
Keynote Highlights and Global Collaboration
A major highlight of Bharat Innovates was the keynote address by Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy, who emphasized the importance of academic institutions in building globally competitive enterprises.

One of the most significant outcomes of Bharat Innovates was the signing of over 30 partnership agreements, including MoUs between Indian institutions and global partners.
These collaborations include joint research, innovation support, startup incubation, and technology commercialization efforts, strengthening India’s position in global innovation networks through Bharat Innovates 2026.
Additionally, partnerships between IITs, IISc, and French universities aim to promote student exchange, joint research, and talent development under the Bharat Innovates 2026 framework.
Focus on AI, Deep-Tech, and Global Innovation Corridors
Discussions at Bharat Innovates centered on artificial intelligence, deep-tech innovation, and global collaboration. Experts highlighted the need for a trusted and inclusive AI ecosystem that promotes shared development and responsible innovation.
Sessions on “AI for Global Good” and “Deep Tech Without Borders” reinforced the goal of Bharat Innovates 2026 to create strong international innovation corridors connecting India and Europe.
