Honeymoon Turns Deadly: Andhra Wife and Lover Arrested for Murdering Husband Weeks After Wedding

In a shocking case that mirrors the recent honeymoon killing in Meghalaya, a 32-year-old land surveyor from Telangana was allegedly murdered just weeks after his wedding. The crime, police say, was masterminded by his wife and her married lover, who hired contract killers to execute the murder. Authorities have arrested four individuals, including the wife, while the prime suspect remains at large.

Victim Disappears a Month After Marriage

The victim, G. Tejeshwar, was a private land surveyor from Rajaveedhi in Gadwal town, Telangana. He married T. Sahasra alias Ishwarya, 25, on May 17 at Anjaneya Temple in Beechupalli, despite resistance from his family.

However, the marriage quickly turned tragic. On June 17, Tejeshwar reportedly got into a car and never returned. Alarmed, his brother Tejvardhan filed a missing person complaint the next day with the Gadwal Town Police.

Body Found in Andhra Canal, Identified by Family

Police reviewed CCTV footage and tracked Tejeshwar’s last known movements, which led them to the HNSS Canal in Sugalimetta, located under Panyam police station limits in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. On June 21, the decomposed body was recovered and later positively identified by the family.

Gadwal Superintendent of Police T. Srinivasa Rao confirmed the grim discovery and said the investigation quickly pointed toward a planned murder involving multiple suspects.

Contract Killers Paid ₹2 Lakh for the Crime

The case took a darker turn when police identified and arrested three suspects — Nagesh, Parashuram, and Raju — from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The trio had reportedly contacted Thirumala Rao, an NBFC (Non-Banking Finance Company) manager, for a loan. In a chilling twist, Rao allegedly offered them ₹2 lakh to murder Tejeshwar instead.

According to investigators, the suspects lured Tejeshwar under the pretense of conducting a land survey at Yerravalli. Once inside the car, they slit his throat, showed the body to Rao for confirmation, and dumped it into the canal.

The Swift Dzire car used in the crime was later recovered from Panyam, further strengthening the police’s case.

Wife Arrested for Involvement; Main Accused on the Run

Tejeshwar’s wife Ishwarya has also been arrested. Police say she was fully aware of the murder plot and even shared her husband’s location with the accused on the day of the crime.

Further investigation revealed a tangled web of relationships. Thirumala Rao was previously in a relationship with Sujatha, Ishwarya’s mother, who worked as a sweeper at the NBFC. During Sujatha’s absence, Ishwarya began doing her mother’s cleaning duties, during which she developed an affair with Rao, who is married.

Despite her family’s disapproval and lingering suspicions, Tejeshwar went ahead with the marriage. Just days into their union, cracks began to show. He reportedly confronted Ishwarya about her frequent phone conversations with an unknown man, which ultimately turned out to be Rao.

Police Continue Search for Prime Accused

The primary accused, Thirumala Rao, remains absconding, and a manhunt is underway. Authorities believe that he played a central role not only in planning and financing the murder, but also in manipulating Ishwarya into sharing critical information.

A senior police officer stated,

“We are exploring the motive further. The nature of the relationship, monetary exchange, and timeline of events strongly suggest premeditated murder.”
