While fans were busy praising the stunning visuals and star-studded cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s epic, T-Series — the producer of the 2023 film Adipurush — quietly re-uploaded the Jai Shri Ram song from their version of the Ramayana on YouTube.
This unexpected timing sparked chatter across social media, with many speculating whether it was a strategic move or just a coincidence. Given Adipurush faced harsh criticism upon release, the online reaction was swift and mixed — some saw it as a marketing attempt, while others viewed it as a distraction from the buzz surrounding the new film.
Adding fuel to the buzz, T-Series — the banner behind Adipurush — uploaded the Jai Shri Ram song from the 2023 film, featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, almost immediately after Ramayana’s teaser dropped. The timing raised eyebrows across the internet. Naturally, comparisons between Ramayana and Om Raut’s Adipurush began flooding social media soon after the teaser dropped. Many users declared that the teaser alone looked “better than the entirety of Adipurush,” praising the film’s sleek visuals and what they called “Hollywood-level VFX.” Some even joked that director Om Raut should be taking notes.
For those unfamiliar, Adipurush — a 2023 mythological action film by Om Raut — was met with widespread backlash for its weak screenplay, awkward dialogues, and underwhelming visual effects. Despite a massive budget of ₹550 crore and a star cast featuring Prabhas as Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan, and Kriti Sanon as Sita, the film underperformed at the box office, reportedly earning only ₹393 crore worldwide.
