Former Lok Sabha MP and actor Ramya has created a buzz with her strong statements as she Ramya criticizes Dhurandhar 2 after watching Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) in theatres following its March 19 release. Posting on X (formerly Twitter) on March 20, she urged audiences to skip the film in cinemas, save their money, and wait for the OTT release instead.
Direction, Dialogues, and Performances Under Fire
In her comments, Ramya criticizes Dhurandhar 2 for its direction, dialogues, editing, background score, and performances, calling the film a “snoozefest” and consistently subpar. She suggested the rushed production or disregard for quality resulted in a film that fails to impress.
Just watched Dhurandhar 2 and wow! what a masterclass in how to turn something promising into an endurance test.
It’s like reading a textbook of the most boring subject with never-ending chapters and at some point, your brain just gives up and starts laughing out of sheer despair…— Ramya/Divya Spandana (@divyaspandana) March 20, 2026
Ramya specifically commented on Ranveer Singh’s performance: “To everyone saying it’s Ranveer carrying the film, what exactly is he carrying? Because all I could see was his hair.” She noted that unlike the first part, the lead character lacks personality and presence in Dhurandhar 2.
Extreme Violence Draws Criticism
Another highlight of Ramya criticizes Dhurandhar 2 is the film’s excessive violence. She described it as a “visual handbook” on creative ways to weaponize everyday objects, mentioning syringes, spanners, knives, spiked balls, machetes, chains, guns, bombs, and shutters. According to her, the escalation in violent scenes quickly becomes unintentionally comedic.

She mocked the absurdity of dialogues during violent scenes: “Even after chopping off both legs and soaking a torso in kerosene, the character is still delivering dialogues like he is in the middle of a TED Talk. Medical science, zindabad.”
Conclusion: Disappointment Despite Box Office Success
In conclusion, Ramya criticizes Dhurandhar 2 as “a HUGE disappointment. Snoozefest/comedy at best.” She added: “If Part 1 made you cheer, this one will make you question why. Dhurandhar 2 why? Ranveer, you’re better than this. Aditya Dhar-jingoism and propaganda is so passé.”
Despite Ramya’s harsh critique, Dhurandhar: The Revenge opened to record-breaking numbers, grossing over ₹100 crore in India on its first day, with total domestic earnings surpassing ₹145 crore, including paid previews.
