Music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal is once again in the spotlight after a new Palash Muchhal Legal Case was registered in Sangli. A complaint has been filed by Vigyan Prakash Mane, a resident of Sangli and childhood friend of cricketer Smriti Mandhana.
The case has reportedly been registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with Sections 351(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
Allegations in Palash Muchhal Legal Case
According to the complaint, the incident linked to the Palash Muchhal Legal Case occurred on November 22 at a toll plaza on the Sangli–Ashta road. The complainant alleges that Palash Muchhal made derogatory remarks related to his caste during a dispute.
The situation reportedly escalated from a financial disagreement, where Mane claims he had invested around ₹25 lakh for a film project that Muchhal was producing.
Financial Dispute Behind the Case
The Palash Muchhal Legal Case also involves allegations of financial misconduct. Police sources indicate that Mane had given ₹25 lakh for film production, with an assurance that the project would be completed within six months.

However, when the project did not materialise, Mane allegedly demanded a refund, which led to a heated confrontation between the two parties.
Complainant’s Statement
In his statement regarding the Palash Muchhal Legal Case, Vigyan Mane told Zoom that he was misled about the project timeline and later faced avoidance when seeking repayment.
“He had assured me the film would be completed in six months, but that did not happen. When I asked for my money back, he avoided the issue,” Mane said.
He further alleged that during the confrontation, caste-related derogatory remarks were made, though he refused to repeat them publicly.
Link to Smriti Mandhana’s Past Engagement
The Palash Muchhal Legal Case has also brought renewed attention to his past relationship with Smriti Mandhana. The two were previously engaged and were expected to marry in 2025, but later called off the wedding.
Although both publicly confirmed their separation, the exact reason behind their breakup was never officially disclosed.
