8th Pay Commission: According to the previous commission, starting from the time it is created, it usually takes two to three years to implement.

The city of New Delhi :  Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister, said in January of this year that the 8th Pay Commission had been approved. It is anticipated that the new payment system will update the wages of around 50 lakh central government workers. There has been no update on the Commission’s formal notice, member appointments, or Terms of Reference (ToR) notwithstanding the announcement, which was made almost nine months ago.

Even though central government workers are still awaiting the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, there is conjecture that they could have to wait until 2028 to be covered by the new payment system.

Implementation Time: 2-3 years

From the moment it is created, it usually takes two to three years to implement, according to the previous commission. It is anticipated that the pay commission will be implemented in 2028, given the timing of prior commissioners and the fact that 2025 is only three months away.

Fifth Pay Commission

The government received the report in January 1997 after it was appointed in April 1994. As of January 1, 1996, the suggestions were put into practice.

The Sixth Pay Commission

The government received the findings from the 6th Pay Commission, which was founded in October 2006, in March 2008. Taking into consideration the pay of central government officials as of January 1, 2006, the government approved the panel’s recommendations in August 2008.

Seventh Pay Commission

The terms of reference, which were finalized on March 24, were formed in February 2014. November 2015 saw the submission of the report for government approval. In June 2016, the report was approved, and in January 2016, the recommendations were implemented.

The government has not yet made the ToR or the list of commission members public for the eighth pay commission. A report is typically prepared and submitted two years after the commission is formed, according to the past commissioners. The report’s consideration and approval by the government will take some time once it is received.

The 8th Pay Commission’s implementation is anticipated to benefit about 50 lakh Central government workers, including those employed in the defense industry. Additionally, it is anticipated that after the new pay system takes effect, around 65 lakh Central government pensioners—including veterans of the armed forces—will get benefits.
