NEW DELHI — A big argument has broken out inside the ruling government alliance. The NDA Reservation Controversy grew intense on Saturday as two central ministers asked each other to quit their posts.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi expressed completely opposite views on government reservation rules. Consequently, their open argument has created tension within the coalition.

How the Dispute Over Caste Quota Rules Started
The problem began when Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Suman asked for changes to quota policies. Suman is the son of Jitan Ram Manjhi. He claimed that rich families within scheduled castes take away most job benefits.
Therefore, he demanded smaller sub-quotas inside the main quota system. His father supported this statement fully. However, Chirag Paswan strongly rejected this demand.
Chirag Paswan Demands Quick Resignations
Chirag Paswan stated that caste quotas exist to fight social bias, not financial problems. Additionally, he explained that dividing castes into smaller sub-groups will hurt overall social unity.
Paswan declared that leaders demanding special exclusions should first give up their own government benefits. Moreover, he asked Jitan Ram Manjhi and his son to resign immediately from their post positions.
Jitan Ram Manjhi Hits Back at Allies
Jitan Ram Manjhi answered back quickly to defend his stand. He belongs to the Musahar community, which faces severe economic difficulties. He claimed that Paswan ignores the true needs of poorer families.
Furthermore, Manjhi demanded that Paswan step down as minister instead. The ongoing NDA Reservation Controversy highlights deep political differences inside the governing partnership.
