Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun her official visit to France, where she will participate in a series of high-level bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue and deepening the India–France Strategic Partnership.
The visit focuses on expanding economic cooperation, investment opportunities, technology collaboration, and innovation between the two countries.
India–France Economic and Financial Dialogue to Strengthen Ties
A key highlight of the visit is the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue, which will be co-chaired by Nirmala Sitharaman and French Minister of Economy and Finance Roland Lescure in Aix-en-Provence.
During the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue, both sides are expected to explore new areas of cooperation in trade, investment, clean energy, and financial services. The discussions aim to further strengthen long-term economic relations between India and France.

Engagements with Global Business Leaders

The India France Economic and Financial Dialogue also serves as a platform to promote India as a key global investment destination.
Participation in Global Economic Forum
Sitharaman will also take part in a panel discussion at the Les Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence, where she will speak on the theme “How to Promote the Growth of a New Middle Class.”
Her participation in discussions linked to the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue highlights India’s growing role in shaping global economic policy conversations.
Visits to ITER and Campus Cyber
During her visit, the Finance Minister will tour the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project in Cadarache, one of the world’s largest nuclear fusion collaborations involving India and France.
She will also visit Campus Cyber, France’s national hub for cybersecurity innovation, to explore opportunities for cooperation in digital security and emerging technologies—key areas linked to the broader vision of the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue.
Strengthening Regional and Economic Cooperation
Nirmala Sitharaman will also meet officials from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region to discuss cooperation in investment, innovation, clean energy, and technology.
These discussions are expected to further reinforce outcomes of the India France Economic and Financial Dialogue, particularly in regional economic partnerships and sustainable development.
Engagement with Indian Diaspora
The Finance Minister will conclude her visit with a community interaction with the Indian diaspora in France, strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
