Delhi Aam Aadmi Party leader Ankush Narang has raised serious allegations over the alleged misuse of public funds in the purchase of electric vehicles, terming it the MCD EV Scam.
He claimed that nearly 75 electric vehicles procured for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) are lying unused at the Civic Centre parking area despite crores of rupees being spent from taxpayers’ money.
EVs Left Unused at Civic Centre
Highlighting the issue, Narang said the MCD EV Scam reflects poor planning and mismanagement of public resources. According to him, the electric vehicles purchased for civic use have been parked for years without being deployed for public service.

He questioned why such expensive assets were not put into operation while the administration continues to promote electric vehicle policies.
Questions Raised on Government EV Policy
Narang also criticized the ruling party, alleging a contradiction between its EV promotion campaign and ground reality. He said the MCD EV Scam exposes the gap between announcements and actual implementation of policies.

He further demanded accountability from officials responsible for the procurement and non-utilization of the vehicles.
Demand for Accountability
The AAP leader asked who is responsible for the alleged wastage of public money and why no action has been taken so far. He stressed that taxpayers deserve transparency in how civic funds are used.
According to him, the MCD EV Scam is not just about unused vehicles but also about governance failure and lack of accountability.
