PM Modi Interacts with IAS 2024 Batch, Urges Focus on Citizen-Centric Governance and Nation-Building

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with officer trainees of the IAS 2024 batch in New Delhi, emphasising the importance of citizen-centric governance, accountability, and innovation in public administration. The interaction took place at Seva Teerth, where 183 young officers shared their field training experiences.

PM Modi Highlights Role of IAS 2024 Batch in Nation-Building

Addressing the officers, the Prime Minister said the IAS 2024 batch is at a crucial stage where their decisions will directly impact the lives of millions of citizens. He stressed that public service must be guided by integrity, sensitivity, and a strong sense of responsibility towards people.

He urged the trainees to focus on “Nagrik Devo Bhava” and ensure that every administrative decision reflects empathy and responsiveness.

Focus on Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision

The Prime Minister connected the responsibilities of the IAS 2024 batch with India’s long-term development goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted key national priorities such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, manufacturing growth, energy security, and expanding opportunities for youth.

He said that every policy decision taken today will contribute to building a developed India in the future.

Technology and Data-Driven Governance Emphasised

PM Modi also highlighted the growing role of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital governance in improving service delivery. He told the IAS 2024 batch that governance must move from a process-oriented approach to a result-oriented model.

He added that data should be seen not just as numbers but as reflections of citizens’ lives, challenges, and aspirations, urging officers to focus on real ground-level outcomes.

Whole-of-Government Approach and Coordination

The Prime Minister called for stronger coordination across departments, stating that complex governance challenges cannot be solved in silos. He encouraged the IAS 2024 batch to adopt a whole-of-government approach for effective implementation of policies.

Women Representation and Youth Participation

Highlighting inclusivity, PM Modi noted that more than 40 percent of the IAS 2024 batch consists of women officers, reflecting positive change in India’s administrative system. He encouraged young officers to measure success through impact and outcomes rather than positions.

Senior officials including Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretaries to the Prime Minister, and DoPT Secretary were also present during the interaction.
