Delhi – The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP government of deliberately obstructing a condolence meeting for victims of the recent Palam fire tragedy, which claimed multiple lives. According to party leaders, BJP representatives attempted to prevent AAP members from participating and discussing the circumstances behind the deaths.
Saurabh Bhardwaj, Delhi State Convenor of the AAP, condemned the actions at the meeting, describing a shocking scene of intimidation and violence. “Chairs were thrown at us, one hitting our former MLA Vinay Mishra, and our female councilor was assaulted by police, with hands and elbows pressed against her chest,” said Saurabh Bhardwaj. He called the behavior unacceptable and a blatant attempt to silence discussion about the tragedy.

Eyewitnesses also reported that many victims had died before the fire brigade even arrived. “Even Virendra Sachdeva, whose house has children, should have shown restraint. The BJP government is trying to place all the blame on the victims themselves,” stated Saurabh Bhardwaj.

The party emphasized that grieving families deserve respect, compassion, and accountability from authorities. “The way the condolence was disrupted is shameful. Saurabh Bhardwaj and AAP will not remain silent on this outrageous behavior,” he added.
