Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threat Emails, Security Teams Conduct Checks

Threatening emails received by several schools in Delhi and Chandigarh prompt immediate security inspections; no suspicious objects found so far.

New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi were targeted with threatening emails warning of bomb attacks on Monday, prompting immediate security measures by authorities.

Officials reported that the emails mentioned multiple institutions, including Alcon School (East Delhi), Bal Bharati School (Rohini), Jaspal Kaur School, and Mata Jai Kaur School (Ashok Vihar), among others.

The threatening messages were noticed by school management in the morning, after which police and fire department teams were alerted. Emergency response teams conducted thorough inspections of the school premises, but no suspicious objects have been detected so far.

Other schools receiving similar threats include Loreto Convent School (Delhi Cantt), Cambridge School (Srinivaspuri), Venkateshwar School (Rohini), Indian School (Sadiq Nagar), CM School (Rohini), DTA School (INA), Air Force School (Lodhi Road), and KR Mangalam School.

Delhi Police Responds to Bomb Threats at Nine Schools Between 8:30–9 AM

A Delhi Police official said, “Bomb threat calls were received at nine schools between 8:30 and 9:00 am. Teams from Delhi Police, fire services, and bomb disposal squads are present at the locations to ensure safety.”

This is not the first instance of bomb threats targeting schools in the capital. Similar emails have been sent in the past, leading to precautionary security checks.

Recent Bomb Threats in Chandigarh Schools

On January 28, at least 30 schools in Chandigarh received threatening emails, including 22 private and 8 government institutions, triggering immediate security responses. Anti-sabotage units, bomb disposal squads, police personnel, fire brigade teams, ambulances, and PCR units conducted detailed searches of all campuses, but no explosives were found.
