Jaipur : The India StoneMart 2026, a four-day international event celebrating the stone industry, was inaugurated at the Mugdha Convention Hall, Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura, on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The expo will continue until February 8.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sharma highlighted that India StoneMart is more than a trade fair; it is a platform showcasing India’s rich culture, craft traditions, and industrial capabilities. He emphasized Rajasthan’s significant role in India’s stone industry, noting that the state is home to 85 different types of minerals, each district having its own unique stone identity. “The heritage and the future are the stones of Rajasthan,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that Rajasthan’s stones have been used in prestigious national structures such as Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court. He praised the stones’ durability and low maintenance cost, making them competitive in global markets. Stressing the government’s priorities, he mentioned MSMEs, labor welfare, safety, skill development, and promoted the concepts of “One District-One Product” and “One District-One Stone.”

Industries Minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore stated that Rajasthan is a state where history speaks through stones. He noted that India StoneMart, which began in 2007, has now reached its 13th edition, gaining global recognition. This year, 66 international companies from countries including Iran, Italy, Turkey, and China are participating.
A major attraction at the event was Shilpgram, organized by Ruda, where artisans displayed traditional stone crafts and manufacturing techniques. The event also includes B2B meetings, industry dialogues, and export-investment sessions to promote global networking.
Other dignitaries present included Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary Mines T. Ravikant, Executive Director Ricoh Dr. Akash Tomar, Union Minister of Laghu Udyog Bharati Prakash Chandra, R.K. President of Marble Ashok Patni, and renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj.
