Sana Khan discusses quitting Bollywood, her secret marriage to Mufti Anas Saiyad, and embracing faith, family, and personal peace.

Former actress Sana Khan, known for films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and her appearance on Bigg Boss 6, recently spoke about the long-standing assumptions surrounding her decision to quit the entertainment industry. Her sudden exit in 2020 surprised many, and her marriage shortly after to Muslim cleric and businessman Mufti Anas Saiyad added to the speculation about her lifestyle change.

A Private Wedding

Sana revealed that her wedding was kept extremely secret. Only her parents knew the groom’s identity, and she did not even disclose his name to the mehendi artist. She explained that she was going through a personal transformation at the time.

“I was becoming a whole new person. This is something I wanted, and he guided me,” she said.

Responding to ‘Brainwashing’ Claims

Sana addressed rumors that her husband influenced her decision to adopt the hijab and quit acting. She dismissed such assumptions, emphasizing that the choice was entirely her own.

“Nobody can brainwash you unless you want it. I wanted peace. Fame, money, and status can only take you so far; everyone ultimately seeks inner peace,” she stated.

Why She Left Bollywood

Sana explained that her earlier environment influenced her career choices, and unhealthy surroundings often affect decision-making. She also mentioned how much she values her marriage and that her husband and his family covered most of the wedding expenses.

Life Before and After Showbiz

Before leaving the industry, Sana was in a public relationship with choreographer Melvin Louis in 2019, which ended after allegations of domestic abuse. She later revealed that she had suffered bruises and that he had apologized.

In October 2020, Sana announced her decision to leave Bollywood, saying she would devote herself to serving humanity and following the guidance of her Creator. She married Anas in November 2020 in a small private ceremony in Surat. The couple now has two children, Saiyad Tariq Jamil and Saiyad Hasan Jamil, and Sana has embraced a life focused on family, faith, and personal peace.
