Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini criticizes opposition for walking out in Vidhan Sabha, stresses importance of respecting Election Commission and electoral reforms.
According to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Election Commission is a constitutional body and India is the biggest democracy in the world. He said it is nearly sacrilegious to disparage such an institution. He added that in spite of this, the opposition has made numerous attempts to cast doubt on the legitimacy of this hallowed institution and need to take part in a thorough debate on the matter in the House.
Speaking on Monday at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha’s Winter Session, the Chief Minister took part in the discussion of a motion introduced by MLA Ramkumar Kashyap about the state of affairs resulting from ongoing electoral reforms pertaining to voter roll production.
According to him, the opposition has been making unfounded accusations and has now left the House over this matter. He claimed that this was the third time the opposition had walked out. In his capacity as Leader of the House, the Chief Minister urged the Speaker to summon the opposition members back so that a fruitful and significant conversation might occur. He underlined how important it is for the state and its citizens to have a clear understanding of right and wrong.
