Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini says opposition’s vote-stealing claims undermine public trust; urges fact-based debate in Vidhan Sabha on electoral process.

According to Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state’s citizens gave the government a resounding mandate. In this case, the opposition’s attempt to create a perception of “Vote Chor” amounts to open disinformation and undermines the people’s decision, even in spite of this obvious public trust.

He said that there were no complaints from the opposition and that everything seemed to be as it should have been when the results of the Assembly election were announced on October 8, 2024. But over time, the opposition abruptly started accusing people of stealing votes. Additionally, attempts were made to disseminate this story throughout the nation, not just in Haryana.

The Chief Minister claimed that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, had particularly mentioned Haryana in his accusations of vote-stealing. He claimed that because the people of Haryana are interested in the truth, such grave accusations merit a responsible and fact-based debate in the House.

The Chief Minister made it clear that neither the Election Commission of India nor the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) are the subject of the intended debate. Nonetheless, it should be openly discussed if the opposition feels that there has been any irregularity. It is also possible to submit specific recommendations for improvement from the opposition.

The Chief Minister went on to say that the House ought to consider the motion made by MLA Am Kumar Kashyap in order to give the people of Haryana comprehensive and open information on the matter. A thorough discussion would assist everyone understand the facts, as the opposition has been bringing up this baseless issue again and time again.
