Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini disburses Rs. 380 crore to Bajra farmers under Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana and highlights other farmer welfare schemes.

Haryana CM Sh. Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state government has disbursed Rs. 380 crore to Bajra-producing farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. He stated that the prosperity of the state is unattainable without the prosperity of farmers, and consequently, the welfare of farmers continues to be the foremost priority of the government. Farmers receive subsidies for agricultural apparatus throughout the entire process, from sowing to harvesting. In the event that crops are damaged as a result of natural calamities, provisions for compensation and crop insurance are established. Following the harvest, arrangements have been established for the procurement of every particle of produce, with payments being directly deposited into farmers’ bank accounts.

On this occasion, OSD to the Chief Minister, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti; BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli; State General Secretary (Organisation), Sh. Phanindranath Sharma; State General Secretary, Sh. Surender Poonia; State General Secretary, Dr. Archana Gupta; Kisan Morcha State President, Rajbala; along with other senior office-bearers, were present.

The Chief Minister called upon the office-bearers of the Kisan Morcha to encourage farmers throughout the state to implement micro-irrigation, emphasizing that it would not only conserve water but also decrease cultivation expenses for farmers.

He stated that the procurement of all 24 commodities cultivated by farmers is currently being carried out at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). To date, Rs. 1.64 lakh crore has been credited to the bank accounts of 12 lakh farmers in relation to crop procurement. He stated that the government remains steadfast in supporting farmers during periods of calamity, and over the past eleven years, Rs. 15,728 crore has been allocated as compensation for agricultural losses.

To facilitate easier crop procurement, the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal has been introduced. Through this portal, farmers are able to sell their produce and also access financial support for fertilizers, seeds, loans, and agricultural equipment from the convenience of their residences.

The Chief Minister announced that, for crop damages resulting from natural disasters during the Kharif season 2025, compensation exceeding Rs. 116.51 crore has been disbursed to 53,821 farmers.

He stated that the current government has entirely abolished the Abiana system, which had persisted since colonial times. Furthermore, outstanding arrears of Rs. 133.55 crore pertaining to past Abiana dues owed by cultivators have also been waived. He stated that the government has elevated the sugarcane price to Rs. 415 per quintal, the greatest in the nation.

Sharing additional farmer-oriented initiatives, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini stated that 108 mandis across the state have been integrated with the e-NAM portal to facilitate online agricultural sales. Asia’s greatest modern marketplace for apples, fruits, and vegetables has been inaugurated at Pinjore. Under the Haryana Operational Pilot Project, land enhancement has been implemented on 1,54,985 acres throughout the state.

He stated that under the Natural Farming Scheme, verification has been completed for 19,723 producers who have adopted natural farming across an area of 31,873 acres. Under this scheme, a financial assistance of Rs. 75 lakh has been allocated to 2,500 farmers, at a rate of four drums per farmer, and Rs. 1.30 crore has been directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts as a subsidy for the procurement of 523 indigenous cows.

The Chief Minister announced that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs. 7,233 crore has been credited to the bank accounts of 20.18 lakh eligible small and marginal farmers at the rate of Rs. 6,000 annually. He stated that, under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, over 33.51 lakh farmers have received a total of Rs. 9,127 crore in insurance claims to date.

He further informed that the One-Time Settlement Scheme has recently been introduced to address the issue of delinquent loans owed by farmers to PACS. Under this scheme, interest totaling Rs. 2,266 crore for 6,81,182 cultivators and impoverished laborers has been waived. Additionally, under the same initiative, interest and penalties amounting to Rs. 1,314 crore for 4.10 lakh farmers have also been waived.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini stated that farmers are receiving subsidies ranging from Rs. 9,800 to Rs. 22,750 per biogas plant, while farmers from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are granted subsidies ranging from Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 29,250 per plant. Scheduled Caste farmers receive a 50 percent subsidy on battery-operated spray pumps, while farmers are granted a 75 percent subsidy for the installation of solar pumps.

He stated that the stamp duty on transactions between farmers and institutions has been decreased from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 100. Under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana for vegetables and fruits, guaranteed prices have been established for 21 horticultural commodities, and over 30,000 farmers have received Rs. 136.66 crore in price compensation. Bajra was also incorporated into the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana beginning with the Kharif season 2021, and to date, producers have received over Rs. 1,600 crore in Bajra price compensation.

The Chief Minister stated that, in accordance with Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Per Drop – More Crop,” the Haryana Government is offering an 85 percent subsidy on micro-irrigation systems to encourage water conservation. He announced that under the Underground Pipeline Scheme, farmers are receiving a subsidy of Rs. 10,000 per acre, with a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per farmer, to promote optimal irrigation while minimizing water consumption.

Similarly, an 85 percent subsidy is being granted under the Sprinkler Irrigation System. To fulfill the vision of “Har Khet Ko Pani,” the Revised Watercourse Policy-2021 has been enacted. Under this initiative, MICADA has identified 1,144 watercourses for rehabilitation, of which work on 357 watercourses has already been completed. He also announced that a budget allocation of Rs. 200 crore has been designated for this project in the current financial year, and watercourses exceeding 20 years of age will also undergo relining.

The Chief Minister urged the office-bearers of the Kisan Morcha to guarantee that the farmer-oriented schemes of the state government are effectively communicated to every farmer, enabling them to access optimum benefits and enhance their income.
