Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini urges doctors to end their strike, stating the govt has accepted most demands and issued key notifications.

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has appealed to physicians to promptly end their strike and resume their duties to prevent any inconvenience to the general public.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a press conference following the distribution of compensation to farmers here.

He stated that the physicians had four primary demands, three of which have already been approved by the government. He announced that the Finance Department released a notification on August 16, 2024, concerning the establishment of a dedicated cadre for medical professionals. Similarly, another notification was issued on October 25, 2024, authorizing travel allowances for physicians mandated to work outside hospital premises.

He further indicated that the government has suspended the direct recruitment of SMOs. He stated that systems in other states are under review and that the suspension will continue until the final report is obtained. Their fourth requirement, concerning modifications to the ACP framework, has not been approved.

The Chief Minister urged physicians to abstain from engaging in any form of political activity, underscoring that the government has accommodated nearly all of their demands. He stated that government hospitals have experienced ongoing enhancements, resulting in a rise in public confidence in government healthcare. He commended the physicians for their significant contribution to this advancement.

In response to a query regarding the decreased area figures following verification on the e-Kshatipurti portal, the Chief Minister explained that at the time of portal activation, numerous districts were experiencing persistent rainfall and waterlogging. As the water subsided, it became evident that the paddy crop had not sustained any significant damage in several regions, despite producers reporting potential harm on the portal out of initial apprehension.

Regarding another matter concerning the suspension of Patwaris due to irregularities identified on the e-Kshatipurti portal, the Chief Minister stated that it is the government’s duty to compensate farmers for crop losses resulting from natural calamities, and the state has been consistently fulfilling this responsibility. He stated that irregularities by Patwaris had been identified in specific locations, noting that such practices were prevalent during the previous Congress administration, but currently there is zero tolerance for any form of malfeasance.

In response to another inquiry, the Chief Minister affirmed that the government maintained regular and prompt cleansing of drains, which considerably minimized crop damage during the monsoon period.
