Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini hails Tesla ’s first India EV facility in Gurugram, highlighting investment, startups, and business-friendly policies.

“Haryana is not just a market but a manufacturing powerhouse, serving as a major hub for the automobile, IT, and other industries,” stated Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini. He was confident that Tesla would set up its first electric vehicle production facility in India in Haryana and that the state would see the establishment of other Tesla facilities.

Following the opening of the nation’s first all-in-one Tesla India Motors facility in Gurugram on Thursday, the Chief Minister was speaking to the crowd. Additionally in attendance were Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, and Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh.

The government of Haryana is always trying to lower the cost of doing business for industries.

The Chief Minister stated that the Haryana government is constantly striving to lower the cost of doing business for the state’s industry in his speech following the opening of the Tesla India Motors Center. A unique lease strategy for industrial plots has been implemented as part of these initiatives. He went on to say that the region’s established industries are working together to boost the local supply chain. The Chief Minister went on to say that the Haryana government established the Department of Foreign Cooperation, which is actively promoting partnerships with international investors, in order to guarantee productive communication with foreign governments and businesses. He emphasized that Haryana became a leader in the Ease of Doing Business rankings’ “Top Achievers” category because a strong Ease of Doing Business ecosystem was established to speed up industrial development. He added that Haryana is proud of its automotive industry, which produces the most passenger automobiles in India.

Over the past 11 years, exports have increased by more than Rs 2 lakh crore.

According to the Chief Minister, Haryana’s investment and business-friendly policies have made it a place of opportunity and hope. With a 3.6% GDP contribution, the state is currently regarded as one of the wealthiest in the nation. According to him, Haryana’s exports have increased to about Rs 2,75,000 crore from about Rs 70,000 crore prior to 2014. In terms of offering logistics facilities to industry, Haryana is ranked first in North India and second in the nation, the Chief Minister continued.

Amending Outdated Laws to Release Businesses from Red Tape

By revising antiquated legislation that no longer meet modern needs, the Haryana government has taken important efforts to relieve businesses of red tape, according to the chief minister. The Public Trust Ordinance, 2025, which decriminalizes 164 clauses spanning 42 state acts, was announced by the government on October 11, he continued. He said that over the past 11 years, 12,20,872 micro, small, and medium-sized businesses have been founded in the state as a result of the progressive policies of the Haryana government, employing 49.15 lakh people.

Haryana Is Developing a Heart-to-Heart Framework

According to the Chief Minister, Haryana is the country of the Gita, where work is done on an H-to-H or heart-to-heart basis rather than only B-to-B or G-to-G models. According to him, Haryana wants to reach a $1 trillion goal by 2047 in order to greatly boost its economic contribution to the country. He went on to say that the state is aggressively supporting innovation, tech-based businesses, and new startups, and that big international brands like Tesla are crucial to this goal.

Haryana is India’s seventh-largest state in terms of startups.

According to the Chief Minister, Haryana now has over 9,100 recognized startups functioning in the state, making it the seventh-largest state in India in terms of startup numbers. In order to support AI-based startups and research, he noted, AI hubs are being built in Panchkula and Gurugram. The state has also established a Department of the Future, which focuses on deep tech, biotechnology, robotics, and artificial intelligence, to support developing technologies. To further support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, a distinct MSME department has also been created, and an online platform for submitting entrepreneurial memorandums has been introduced.

Sharad Agarwal, General Manager of Tesla India, Isabelle Fan, Senior Director of Tesla, and Pawan Chaudhary, Advisor to the Haryana Department of Foreign Cooperation, were among the dignitaries in attendance.
