Haryana Health Department, led by Sudhir Rajpal, orders strict measures to improve sex ratio to 920, including suspensions and stricter monitoring.

Furthermore In order to increase the sex ratio to 920 this year, district administrations and health officers around the state have been instructed by Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Chief Secretary, Health Department, Haryana, to collaborate closely. He took severe measures, ordering two health officers to be suspended for failing to bring about the anticipated improvement in their districts.

Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary, presided over today’s video conference meeting of the “State Task Force” to improve the state’s sex ratio.

He spoke with the superintendents of police and deputy commissioners of the four low-sex ratio districts of Yamunanagar, Sirsa, Palwal, and Charkhi Dadri during the meeting. He gave them instructions to collaborate with Civil Surgeons and take proactive steps to raise the sex ratio. Additionally, he instructed these districts’ Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor and reverse track cases involving illegal abortions. The Additional Chief Secretary was notified by Health Department officials that the state’s sex ratio was 914 from January 1 to November 24, 2025, as opposed to 905 at the same time last year.

In order to guarantee that all infants in urban slum areas are registered and to raise the state’s standing on sex ratio metrics, Sh. Rajpal urged local authorities to collaborate with the Health Department. Additionally, he issued directives for stringent oversight and action in situations involving unlawful abortions and sex determination.

Due to their incompetence, the Medical Officer of PHC Jottanwali in Sirsa and the SMO of Halalpur in Sonipat were suspended by Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, who took the declining numbers seriously.

He also ordered that a MIS portal be created in order to keep track of court case files pertaining to PNDT issues. It was agreed to investigate the idea of assigning or hiring a few attorneys at the state headquarters to actively prosecute court cases in light of the poor conviction record in PNDT cases.

Additionally, he instructed all Civil Surgeons to compile a line-list report on all clinics, nursing homes, and hospitals in their districts that are administered or overseen by BAMS/GAMS/BHMS practitioners and send it to the headquarters.

In addition to other senior executives, the conference was attended by Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Virender Yadav, Dr. Mukta Kumar, and the Director General of Health Services.
