Punjab Vigilance Bureau uncovers bribery in October, files 13 cases; 5 caught red-handed, guilty convicted to 4 years imprisonment and Rs. 25,000 fine.
Three employees and two private individuals were caught red-handed collecting bribes in four separate trap instances during the month of October by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), which is still fighting corruption in the state.
An official state Vigilance Bureau spokeswoman revealed this today, stating that the VB has made every effort to eliminate corruption among public employees and others in all areas throughout this time.
He said that within the past month, the Bureau has filed challans for 13 vigilance cases in different courts. In addition, a vigilance inquiry has been filed to look into the corruption case against public employees in detail. In addition to the two disproportionate asset charges that were filed against two government officials, he stated that three criminal cases had also been filed against four accused.

He went on to say that a competent court had ruled in a bribery case that the Vigilance Bureau had filed and disputed last month, and that the guilty party had been sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of Rs. 25,000.
