CM Yogi Adityanath welcomes the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 trophy in Lucknow, celebrating UP’s rich hockey legacy and honoring legends.
The FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 trophy, which hosted in Tamil Nadu, was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath . “It brings me and the people of the state great satisfaction to welcome the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 trophy in Lucknow. The Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup is being played by 24 teams, including those from China, India, Belgium, Japan, Spain, New Zealand, Chile, Canada, and Australia.

The trophy’s arrival in Uttar Pradesh, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is a moment of reflection on the state’s illustrious past. The impact Uttar Pradesh has had on Hockey India will never be forgotten. Major Dhyan Chand, known as the hockey wizard, was also recalled by CM Yogi. According to him, Major Dhyan Chand was born in Uttar Pradesh. The Indian hockey team won three gold medals at the Olympics when he was captain. According to the Chief Minister, Major Dhyan Chand Sports University is being built in Meerut by our government. This year’s first session has begun.
Additionally, the Chief Minister brought up the renowned hockey player KD Singh Babu. He claimed to have been born in Uttar Pradesh as well. His home in Barabanki is being turned into a museum to preserve his memory.
The Chief Minister also spoke on Uttar Pradesh’s hockey players, stating that the state has produced a large number of players who have elevated Hockey India. The Padma awardees Mohammad Shahid, Ashok Kumar, Ravindra Pal, Syed Ali, Dr. RP Singh, Sujit Kumar, Abdul Aziz, Subodh Khandekar, Rajnish Mishra, Mohammad Shakeel, Devesh Chauhan, MP Singh, Jagvir Singh, Rahul Singh, Vivek Singh, Lalit Upadhyay, Danish Mutzaba, Rajkumar Pal, Prem Maya, Ranjana Srivastava, Manju Bisht, Pushpa Srivastava, and Preeti Dubey were among the hockey players who were also honored by the Chief Minister.
Rajkumar Pal, Uttam Singh, Vishnukant Singh, Mumtaz, Sakshi, Jyoti, and Purnima are currently making the state and the nation proud by being chosen for the senior and junior Indian teams of men and women, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the Junior Hockey World Cup officials upon their arrival in Lucknow on Saturday and expressed his hope that the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 would be a success. He also wished the World Cup success to the Indian players.
Hockey India General Secretary Bholanath Singh, DG Hockey India Commander RK Srivastava, Uttar Pradesh Hockey General Secretary Rajnish Kumar Mishra, International Hockey player Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Director Dr. RP Singh, State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Girish Chandra Yadav, Sports and Youth Welfare Department Secretary Suhas LYV, and other Hockey India officials attended the event.
From November 28 to December 10, Madurai and Chennai will host the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025. The tournament will feature 24 teams for the first time. This time, the hosts, India, who took home the trophy in 2001 and 2016, will try to win it for the third time.
