Yogi Adityanath holds roadshow in Darbhanga before Bihar polls, dons Mithila paag, greets crowd with BJP’s lotus symbol and flower showers.

Today , Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a roadshow in the north Bihar town of Darbhanga. This was only hours before campaigning ended for the first phase of assembly elections in the state.

The BJP man stood on top of an open vehicle and wore the “Mithila paag,” the traditional headdress of the area. He waved a cardboard cut-out of the lotus, the party’s election emblem, at people on both sides of the street who were trying to see him.

Sanjay Saraogi, a local MLA and Bihar minister, was with Yogi. He wants to keep the Darbhanga seat for a sixth term in a row.

From the side of the road, people threw flower petals on his cars, while a few people were even seen standing on bulldozers to greet the Uttar Pradesh CM.

Adityanath has used the bulldozer to destroy offenders’ homes in Uttar Pradesh as a way to show that justice is being done.

The Bihar assembly polls will be held in two stages on November 6 and November 11, while the counting of ballots will take place on November 14.
