Delhi CM Rekha Gupta emphasizes women’s role as family pillars, the importance of intergenerational respect, and balancing leadership with household duties.

CM Rekha Gupta said on Sunday, “I remember clearly that even on the day when I was going to take oath as the Chief Minister, I took my husband’s shirt out of the wardrobe.” She further stated that the woman will run the family regardless of whether she is appointed CM or DM.

Gupta was giving a speech on the subject of “Balance between family and conduct” at a gathering of the spiritual group Brahmakumaris in Derawal Nagar, Northwest Delhi. Model Town MLA Ashok Goel and spiritual guru and motivational speaker BK Shivani also attended the ceremony.

Gupta told the audience, “I thought I should check the house and set the menu since I had invited all my brothers to my house the night before Bhai Dooj.” She claimed that women are the axis of the family, keeping her father, husband, daughter, and son together. I gave my cook a lot of reprimands that day for the state of the kitchen.

The fundamental tenet of our nation is the family structure. It is what has held this nation’s citizens and their families together. Gupta emphasized that families in India remain together the most, saying, “If it weren’t for this, we would have been dispersed like any of the Western countries.”

According to Gupta, husband-wife relationships in our nation are maintained not only over years but even throughout lifetimes. “In our nation, generations coexist with children showing respect for their parents and parents showing respect for their parents.” Celebrating golden, silver, and platinum jubilees and discussing combined families brings me such joy. She emphasized that families are a source of strength for everyone.
