Punjab to celebrate Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom anniversary with month-long religious and cultural events across all 23 districts.

Chandigarh:  In honor of the 350th anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom, the Punjab government is planning significant state-level memorial events. In a special meeting with Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma in Jaipur, Punjab Cabinet Ministers Dr. Baljit Kaur and Mohinder Bhagat formally invited him to participate in the commemorative festivities in Punjab as part of this initiative.

On behalf of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the ministers sent the Rajasthan Chief Minister their warmest regards. They also told him about the month-long events taking place all over the state to honor Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s unmatched sacrifice for the sake of religious liberty and morality.

At the conference, they disclosed that an Ardas (prayer) at Delhi’s Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib marked the beginning of the memorial celebrations on October 25. A number of religious and cultural events are being planned all throughout Punjab in the wake of the inauguration.

Both Sound and Light In addition to Kirtan Darbars and religious gatherings at 130 holy sites sanctified by the presence of Guru Sahib, shows portraying his life and teachings are being presented in all 23 districts.

The ministers also revealed that the four Nagar Kirtans will end at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. They will start in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), and continue through Gurdaspur, Faridkot, and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Punjab). Sri Akhand Path Sahib, a Sarbat Dharam Sammelan, a Punjab Vidhan Sabha Special Session, and a lavish Kirtan Darbar are among the major events planned for November 23–25. A sizable tent city called “Chakk Nanaki” is being erected at Sri Anandpur Sahib to guarantee the pilgrims’ and tourists’ comfortable stay.

Bhajan Lal Sharma, the chief minister of Rajasthan, praised the admirable efforts made by the Punjab government to honor Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s illustrious legacy.

They claimed that these kinds of gatherings help convey the timeless message of compassion, solidarity, and fraternity throughout the world, guaranteeing complete collaboration and support for the commemorations’ success.

The ministers stated that the goal of these programs is to spread the teachings of truth, equality, and peace found in the Guru Sahib. They went on to say that these continuing activities will encourage followers—particularly the younger generation—to stay inspired by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s demonstration of humanity and harmony.
