Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann flags off seven trucks carrying 2 lakh quintal wheat seeds worth ₹74 crore to support flood-affected farmers across the state.
Chandigarh: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Sunday flagged off seven trucks to deliver two lakh quintal wheat seeds at no cost to farmers who have lost their crop in approximately five lakh acres of land due to the recent floods, fulfilling another pledge he made to the state’s flood victims.
According to the chief minister, the state’s farmers have endured unspeakable suffering as a result of the flood, and the government is standing solidly by them at this dire time.
He said that because the state’s food producers have incurred enormous losses as a result of the recent floods, the state government has chosen to give them two lakh quintal seeds, valued at Rs 74 crore, at no cost. According to Bhagwant Mann, the process of giving away free seeds to farmers in districts hit by flooding has begun and will soon be finished.
