Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Manish Sisodia lead AAP’s Tarn Taran roadshow supporting Harmeet Singh Sandhu, while Congress urges voters to back peace and progress ahead of the November 11 by-election.
A roadshow was held on Sunday by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu in the impending assembly by-election for the Tarn Taran constituency. During the roadshow, Manish Sisodia, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was also present.
CM Bhagwant Mann stated, “The feedback we are receiving is excellent. We will be discussed. There is nothing the opposition party can do but move around. There will be no opposition resurgence after November 14. The Aam Aadmi Party candidate will triumph once more.
In the meantime, Tarn Taran residents were urged by Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring to support the party on Sunday in order to bring about peace, development, and prosperity in the state.
Speaking at a large gathering in support of Karanbir Singh Burj, the party’s candidate for today’s Tarn Taran by-election, Warring advised against using emotions as leverage.
The people of Punjab have now witnessed the governance and operations of all three governments—the Congress, the Akali-BJP, and the Aam Aadmi Party—he said. He assured the crowd that “you are in the best position to make the right choice” and that “the Congress takes along all sections of people and works for peace, progress, and prosperity for everyone.”
As the AAP administration in Punjab was nearing the end of its tenure, the PCC president declared that its days were numbered. In addition, he said, the party was in such a hopeless state that it was forced to hire a candidate from the Akali Dal, which Punjabis had already rejected.
By-elections for eight assembly seats in seven states and Union Territories will be held on November 11, according to a statement released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on October 6.
On November 14, the votes for the by-election will be counted. These by-elections are being held to fill vacancies brought about by resignations, deaths, or disqualifications, among other causes.
By-elections will be held in the districts of Budgam and Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir, Anta in Rajasthan, Ghatshila in Jharkhand, Jubilee Hills in Telangana, Tarn Taran in Punjab, Dampa in Mizoram, and Nuapada in Odisha.
