CM Dr. Mohan Yadav paid tribute to fallen police heroes on Commemoration Day, highlighted welfare schemes, cybercrime control & MP Police achievements.

In his tribute to the valiant sacrifice made by police officers, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that every police officer finds inspiration in the police commemoration day. In the Hot Springs region of Ladakh, he remembered the chilly morning of 1959 when ten courageous police officers lost their life protecting the nation. In India, the custom of commemorating Police Commemoration Day began with this sacrifice.

According to him, the unmatched bravery displayed by our ten courageous warriors in 1959 was equivalent to 10,000 acts of bravery. The attitude of unselfish devotion and sacrifice is symbolized by this day. People who sacrifice themselves for their duty are indeed immortal.

Speaking at the Red Parade Ground in Bhopal for the 2025 Police Commemoration Day Parade, Dr. Yadav stated that our Jawans’ martyrdom is a continual source of pride and inspiration.

The march saluted Dr. Yadav as part of the ceremonial honors bestowed upon him. The roll of honor was delivered by the pallbearer party.

CM Dr. Yadav honored the fallen police officers with flowers, recognizing that their sacrifice keeps society safe and secure. They will always be remembered for their courage, sense of responsibility, and spirit of service, he said. He prayed to Baba Mahakal for the safety and development of the state and exhorted police officers to keep up their hard work and dedication.

Police Break the Spirit of Criminals

Madhya Pradesh is recognized as a “island of peace,” according to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, who praised the police force for its diligence, discipline, and alertness. He claimed that while promoting technology-driven innovations and public awareness initiatives, police officers have been instrumental in preventing cybercrimes, organized crime, naxalism, and safeguarding the protection of women. He declared, “It is a matter of pride that our police have broken the morale of criminals, allowing the state to move toward good governance.”

He commended the police for their excellent work in enforcing the government’s zero-tolerance policy, which included taking decisive action against terrorists, arresting the accused in the Jaipur serial blast, and neutralizing ten Naxalites who were carrying prizes totaling ₹1.5 crore last year. Dr. Yadav confirmed that the police force’s competency and aptitude will enable the country to achieve its aim of eradicating naxalism by 2026 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Campaigns for Digital Awareness and Community Policing

CM Dr. Yadav praised the police’s efforts, pointing out their broad societal influence, including the Srijan program, the “Safe Click-Surakshit Jeevan” campaign, and the Nasha Se Door Rehna Hai Zaroori drive. He praised the integrated service center that was established in the Balaghat district for enhancing the environment of progress and safety. He commended the police for redefining empowerment, self-defense, and child protection through the Srijan initiative and commended the crackdown on illegal arms manufacturing and smuggling.

Police personnel are demonstrating community policing by holding workshops in impoverished regions on subjects like good and bad touch, preventing sexual violence, child rights, nutrition, health, and cybersecurity, according to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. According to him, cybercrime is a significant problem in the digital age, but the state’s cyber unit is successfully combating it with the use of GPS, data analytics, and forensic analysis. While the anti-drug campaign has had a significant social impact, the Safe Click campaign has raised awareness in every home.

Police personnel’s welfare and modernization

The Chief Minister commended the police for successfully enforcing the new criminal legislation that were put into effect in July 2024. In order to provide better transparency and speedier investigations, he said, all police stations are now connected through the CCTNS system, which unifies policing with the judiciary, prosecution, and forensics on a single online platform. He praised the police for their noteworthy accomplishments in leadership training, digital learning, and skill development under Mission Karmayogi.

In reference to welfare and modernization, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the government is spending ₹5,700 crore building more than 25,000 homes for police officers under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. He announced a recruitment push to fill roughly 21,000 positions within three years, reinforcing the government’s commitment to police welfare and morale enhancement.

Quick Response and Family Well-Being

CM Dr. Yadav gave credit to a police constable in Indore for saving MLA Madhu Verma’s life by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a timely manner, exhibiting bravery, compassion, and quick decision-making. “People think of the police first when a crisis occurs, whether they dial 100 or 112,” he said. He emphasized that police families have the government’s full support. In keeping with the custom of support, the state has instituted a program that offers ₹1 crore in financial relief to the families of police martyrs, signifying gratitude and morale rather than just aid.

Honoring the martyrs

Police Memorial Day, according to Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, is a day of respect, resolve, and remembering. It pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s and the state’s peace and security, writing their vow of “Service through Dedication” with their own blood. According to him, eleven Madhya Pradesh police officers lost their lives while on duty this year. They consist of Head Constables Santosh Kushwaha, Prince Garg, Abhishek Shinde, and Govind Patel; Inspectors Sanjay Pathak and Ramesh Kumar Dhurve; Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ramcharan Gautam and Mahesh Kumar Kori; and Constables Anuj Singh, Sunder Singh Baghel, and Anil Yadav.

DGP Makwana disclosed that 1,009 Madhya Pradesh police officers lost their life while doing their duties between October 21, 1959, and August 31, 2025. “Our sacred duty is to ensure the safety and well-being of our martyrs’ families,” he declared. He told the families of the martyrs that they will always be a member of the police community and that the department would continue to protect their interests while praising the bravery, endurance, and commitment of the police force.

Parade ceremonial and floral tributes

In addition, senior and retired police personnel laid wreaths as a floral tribute while listening to patriotic music played by the police band. Following a solemn salute to the martyrs’ memorial, the Pall Bearer Party put the Roll of Honour in the Memorial Fund. IPS officer SDOP Sarvapriya Sinha led the procession, with trainee Deputy SP Hemant Pandey serving as his second-in-command. Men’s and women’s platoons from the District Police Force and Special Armed Forces, as well as Home Guard contingents, Pallbearers, Color and Wreath Parties, mounted police, and the dog squad, participated in the procession.

The parade displayed weapons and a ceremonial salute upon the Chief Minister’s arrival. Following the DGP’s memorial talk, Dr. Yadav met with the martyrs’ families to offer condolences and presented a flower wreath at the memorial. The ceremony was attended by senior police personnel, the martyrs’ families, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, and Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora.
