Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav celebrated Govardhan Puja, emphasizing Sanatan values, cow protection, organic farming, and community participation in dairy development.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his warmest greetings for Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Annakoot Mahotsav, stating that the state is celebrating Govardhan Puja with tremendous fervor. We are all Gopals now, and every house, cow shelter, and village has become into Vrindavan. Respect for the environment and social responsibility are embodied in all of our customs and holidays. For instance, Govardhan Puja is the best illustration. We are conditioned by our culture to be thankful for everyone. We are spreading awareness of nature, the environment, and livestock conservation around the world today by worshiping Govardhan and cattle wealth. Sanatan culture has given us this. This celebration of nature and environmental preservation is what this festival is truly all about. It serves as a reminder that living in harmony with all other life on Earth is fundamental.
Govardhan Puja represents the idea of “Live and let live” as well as the distribution of resources and food throughout the community. We all have a shared obligation to preserve our culture and customs. This goal is the reason the state government is holding Govardhan Puja. Speaking at the state-level Govardhan Puja event on Tuesday at Ravindra Bhavan was Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.

The importance of organic farming is being recognized worldwide.
The mother soul of Sanatan culture, according to Dr. Yadav, is the cow. Cow’s milk functions similarly to nectar for human bodies. The Brij people were motivated by Lord Shri Krishna to defend their animals by organizing a cowherd army. Lord Krishna astonished and motivated mankind even as a young boy with his holy deeds to conserve everyday life and folk culture. According to his message, a Gopal is someone who raises cows. There is now scientific proof of the advantages of cow pee, manure, and milk. Even serious illnesses like cancer have showed improvements when cow products are consumed. Additionally, homes covered with cow dung have been shown to lessen the effects of radiation. Everyone is aware of how crucial cow dung manure is to farming. This has led to a renewed global recognition of the importance of organic and natural farming.
The Deep Messages of Sanatan Festivals
Yoga and Ayurveda are two of the best examples of the many life-improving ideas found in Indian culture and traditions, according to Dr. Yadav. In Sanatan culture, there is a deeper meaning behind every holiday. The state government has taken the lead in organizing these important festivals in partnership with the community. The administration is commemorating traditional holidays with the populace for the second year in a row. Celebrated with excitement and fervor, Govardhan Puja signifies the harvest of one crop and the start of the next, giving society a boost of vitality. This festive occasion also includes Govardhan’s Annakoot offering.
Encouragement of Public Involvement
The Chief Minister stressed that raising animals is crucial to increase farmers’ profits. It contributes to increased milk production. At the moment, Madhya Pradesh accounts for 9% of the nation’s total milk production. The objective is to raise this to 20%. The state administration is dedicated to establishing Madhya Pradesh as a state that produces a lot of milk. Numerous programs are being put into place to promote dairy production and animal husbandry. Financial assistance for cow shelters has been raised from ₹20 to ₹40 per day each cow. In addition to milk, plans are underway to make cow dung and pee available from cow shelters. Dr. Yadav said that if society and the government worked together to conserve cattle, it would also help to preserve Sanatan culture.
“The state government will provide full assistance to anyone who wants to raise cows, operate a cowshed, or support cow shelter operations,” he stated.
Vedic Chants for Govardhan Mountain Worship
Dr. Yadav used Vedic chanting to demonstrate human commitment to nature during the state-level ceremony at Ravindra Bhavan, where he performed Govardhan Puja. The Aarti of Govardhan Mountain was done by the guests following the Puja. The Chief Minister arrived to the location wearing a traditional turban, and dancing youths performed folk music for him. He gave the livestock tender caresses and fed them. In keeping with the Annakoot custom, Dr. Yadav was given a plate of fresh harvest offerings, or prasadam. He was also given 56 food items (Chhappan Bhog) as a symbolic offering.
