BJP and BRS announce top campaigners for Telangana’s Jubilee Hills by-poll. Deepak Reddy, Sunitha Maganti, and Naveen Yadav in key contest.

The BJP has announced 40 prominent campaigners for the Telangana Jubilee Hills Assembly by-elections, including Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Arjun Ram Meghwal, G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, B. Srinivasa Varma, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Key figures who will support the saffron party candidate in the November 11 by-election include Tejasvi Surya, K. Annamalai, and D.K. Aruna, as well as party MPs D. Purandeswari and K. Annamalai.

Hours after its candidate, L. Deepak Reddy, submitted his nomination, the party’s central leadership revealed the list of prominent campaigners.

Other prominent party campaigners include Andhra Pradesh health minister Satya Kumar, party’s Andhra Pradesh unit president PNV Madhav, BJP’s OBC Mora president and MP Dr. K. Laxman, Sunil Bansal, the party’s national general secretary in charge of Telangana, state party president N. Ramchander Rao, MPs Eatala Rajender, Dharampuri Arvind, Konda Vishweswar Reddy, M. Raghunandan Rao, and Godem Nagesh.

For the by-election, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has also revealed a list of 40 prominent candidates.

The prominent campaigners include senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao, and BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).

Other notable figures who will campaign for the party include former ministers Srinivas Yadav, Padmarao Goud, Mahmood Ali, Prashanth Reddy, E. Dayakar Rao, Niranjan Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar, and Sabitha Indra Reddy.

The passing of Maganti Gopinath, who was elected in 2023 on the BRS ticket, has made the by-election necessary. Maganti Sunitha, his wife, has been put forward by the party.

Naveen Yada  is the candidate of the ruling Congress party.

On Tuesday, the final day, Deepak Reddy of the BJP submitted his nomination. In 2023, he had run unsuccessfully from Jubilee Hills.

In order to win the seat for a third consecutive term, Gopinath of the BRS defeated Mohammed Azharuddin, a former Indian cricket captain and Congress candidate, by 16,337 votes.

In a multi-cornered battle, Azharuddin received 64,212 votes, while Gopinath received 80,549 votes. Deepak Reddy received 25,866 votes, placing him in third place.
