Haryana ACS Sudhir Rajpal orders special campaign for birth registration in slums, with Civil Surgeons supervising to improve child registration and sex ratio.
Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department in Haryana, has instructed officers to implement a unique initiative to guarantee of the birth registration for children who reside in impoverished and destitute areas. He said that Civil Surgeons will physically visit these areas and oversee the campaign activities on the ground.
Sh. Sudhir Rajpal was leading a meeting of the “Special Task Force” that was established to regulate the sex ratio.
In order to ensure that all children are registered, he instructed the Health Department personnel to implement a special campaign to register births in slum areas and other underprivileged environments. He ordered that all Civil Surgeons be tasked with the responsibility of monitoring the campaign through regular and unexpected inspections to guarantee its proper execution.

The Additional Chief Secretary expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of desired improvement in the sex ratio in specific districts and announced that the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of any district in which the sex ratio has declined during the specified period in comparison to the previous year would be subject to strict action.
A pharmacist was suspended last month for unsatisfactory performance, and a FIR has been registered against an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) of the Health Department. This information was reported during the meeting.
It was also disclosed that the sex ratio of females from January 1, 2024, to October 8, 2024, was 905. However, it has since improved by four points to 909 from January 1, 2025, to October 8, 2025.

Dr. R.S. Dhillon, the Managing Director of NHM, Dr. Manish Bansal, the Director General of Health Services (HQ), Dr. Kuldeep Singh, the Director of DGHS (P), Dr. Virender Yadav, and other senior officers from the departments of Women and Child Development, AYUSH, and DGHS were in attendance at the meeting.
