Haryana Govt clarifies Group-D post names; combined posts now equal to original titles, ensuring smooth joining for new employees.
The Haryana Govt has determined that the combined positions of Peon-cum-Chowkidar, Mali-cum-Chowkidar, and Mali-cum-Sweeper are equivalent to Peon and Mali, respectively. This decision will be applicable to all postings that are made under the Common Cadre. Sh. Anurag Rastogi, the Chief Secretary, has issued a letter regarding this matter.
This decision is in compliance with Section 23 of the Haryana Group-D Employees (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2018, which supersedes all other service regulations.
It is important to note that several employees who were appointed under Advertisement No. 01/2023 were unable to assume responsibility for their designated departments as a result of discrepancies in their designations. Confusion had resulted from discrepancies in nomenclature, including Mali vs Mali-cum-Chowkidar and Peon vs Peon-cum-Chowkidar.
All affected Group-D employees will be permitted to serve in their respective departments pursuant to the revised instructions issued by the Government. The effective date of appointment will be determined by the date of relieving from the offices of Divisional Commissioners/Deputy Commissioners, Panchkula, and the date of submitting membership reports on the official portal.

The Government has instructed all Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments to provide immediate communication of these instructions to all relevant officers and guarantee their strict and expeditious adherence. In order to guarantee the successful completion of the posting process for newly appointed employees, these instructions have been designated as imperative.
